Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation Hay Drive

MHWF, Inc.      10990 Hwy. 73     Pittsville, WI 54466
715-884-2215

A Rare and Special Opportunity for MHWF!

This year we met someone who not only believes in what MHWF does, but also lives nearby, makes a lot of hay and takes pride in the quality of their hay, growing it specifically for horses. We went and inspected the hay and are very, very happy with the quality of it, better than we have had available to us for quite some time. Because of this person, we were able to secure the entire year's worth of hay in one fell swoop, locally (only 7 miles away), at a very good price and even have it stored indoors for us this year. This is some of the best news we have had in a long, long time and if we make good on our deal, we can continue it next year and hopefully for years to come. The best news about all of this is that if we can make this happen and hold up our end of the deal, we will be cutting our yearly hay bill almost in half! That's right, in half! (Last winter we spent $20,300 on hay.)

The Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation is dedicated to providing qualified homes for any horse in need. It is our goal to make certain that every horse placed in our care is provided with all the necessary ingredients for a safe and happy life, and that it is also protected from those who would do it harm.

Each horse placed in our care will receive our full efforts to ensure that it never ends up in the auction ring or on the slaughterhouse floor. We promise to do our best to provide only the best homes with dedicated families for every animal we place.

Canine Massage Workshop - Milwaukee Campus

Milwaukee Campus
4500 West Wisconsin Avenue   Milwaukee, WI 53208
414-264-6257

Relax, de-stress and relieve your dog and yourself by learning basic relaxation and therapeutic massage techniques.  Canine massage is more than just "fluff."  Massage certainly relaxes and relieves pain, but it can also lower stress and anxiety, build confidence, soothe arthritis, increase flexibility and prevent potential future injury...just to list a few of the benefits!                             info@wihumane.org

This workshop is for dogs of all ages and their families.  During the two-hour hands-on session with your dog, you will learn generalized muscle anatomy and basic techniques to relax your dog, warm your dog up before physical activities and therapeutic work that can assist in healing processes or with common geriatric conditions.  You will also learn some fun, active stretches to teach to your dog! Essential Oils used in massage therapy will also be covered.  Please note that oils will be used during this session.

Be sure to wear comfortable clothes.  Bring a small throw blanket to sit on the floor with your dog (this will create "your space" to work within).  Treats or a "quiet" toy recommended to help keep your dog focused on you.

The fee for this workshop is $40.00 per dog.Dogs must be current on vaccinations including rabies, distemper and bordetella.

Every year many elderly people in Juneau County are forced to give up their beloved pet because they are facing a health or financial crisis.   This is a heartbreaking situation for the owner and the animal.  We would like to help.  Our Elderly Assistance Program is designed to assist persons 60 years old and older in keeping their pet with them for as long as possible.  We have members who are willing to assist with dog walking, grooming, driving pets to the veterinarian, and even helping to purchase cat or dog food if necessary.  Pets and the elderly. A Good Mix!

To view or print our Elderly Assistance Application visit website .
To ease your mind about the future of your pets, we also offer  'Guardian Angels' , a program that assures your pet will be taken care of in the event of your illness or death.  There is no cost for this program.  Please contact one of our board members if you have questions about completing a Guardian Angels form. 608-847-4060 http://www.carlnelson.org/index.html

To best prepare for the clinic, please keep the following tips in mind:
Attendees are responsible for controlling their own animal - please have your dog on a leash and your cat in a carrier.
Please bring your animal's prior vaccine history if they have any.
A signed rabies certificate is the only acceptable form of proof for prior rabies vaccines.
This is a first-come, first-served event, so wait times will vary. Please prepare to be waiting outdoors.
All animals must be healthy, not pregnant, and able to be safely handled.
The animal's guardian must be present to give vaccination consent.
We are not able to serve clients who are bringing animals to the clinic on behalf of someone else.   http://savinglives.wihumane.org/site/Calendar?view=Detail&id=132882

Citizens United for Animals, Inc.

CUFA
PO Box 170414    Milwaukee, WI 53217

Citizens United for Animals: Our primary goal is to bring attention to the systematic abuse of animals, both globally and locally, and the alarming extent of the problem. It is CUFA’s hope that those so enlightened will feel compelled to take a greater interest in the welfare of all creatures on this planet, work for improved lives for all species, and forgo those practices and possessions which necessitate the suffering and killing of defenseless animals.

CUFA monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00pm at the Outpost Coop at 100 E. Capital Drive, Milwaukee.  It is at these meetings that current legislations, pending campaigns, upcoming events, and other business are discussed. Decisions are made as to how the membership can best work toward eliminating abuse.

It is CUFA’s desire that each sentient being on this planet live out its life in a healthy, natural fashion; unimpeded by the tastes, greed, and wantonness of mankind.   Visit website at        https://www.facebook.com/CitizensUnitedForAnimals
