Paws in the Park

Jackson Park      Jackson, WI

Pets and their human companions are invited to join us as we walk to demonstrate our concern for homeless animals and raise money for WCHS. All animal lovers are invited…with or without a pet! The 1.5-mile or 2.5-mile walk will begin in Jackson Park in Jackson. All walkers will leave at the same time regardless of their route choice. Water for the animals and their companions will be provided along the route.

Animals adopted from our shelter proudly wear a special bandana signifying saved lives and second chances. After the walk has been completed, the shelter honors the top walkers who brought in the most pledges while people enjoy great food for a minimal cost.  http://www.wchspets.org/walk-for-the-animals/

Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation Hay Drive

MHWF, Inc.      10990 Hwy. 73     Pittsville, WI 54466

A Rare and Special Opportunity for MHWF!

This year we met someone who not only believes in what MHWF does, but also lives nearby, makes a lot of hay and takes pride in the quality of their hay, growing it specifically for horses. We went and inspected the hay and are very, very happy with the quality of it, better than we have had available to us for quite some time. Because of this person, we were able to secure the entire year's worth of hay in one fell swoop, locally (only 7 miles away), at a very good price and even have it stored indoors for us this year. This is some of the best news we have had in a long, long time and if we make good on our deal, we can continue it next year and hopefully for years to come. The best news about all of this is that if we can make this happen and hold up our end of the deal, we will be cutting our yearly hay bill almost in half! That's right, in half! (Last winter we spent $20,300 on hay.)

The Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation is dedicated to providing qualified homes for any horse in need. It is our goal to make certain that every horse placed in our care is provided with all the necessary ingredients for a safe and happy life, and that it is also protected from those who would do it harm.

Each horse placed in our care will receive our full efforts to ensure that it never ends up in the auction ring or on the slaughterhouse floor. We promise to do our best to provide only the best homes with dedicated families for every animal we place.

The Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit organization . those wishing to add a healthy, loving, animal companion to their families

Members of our group started working to alleviate the suffering of mill dogs in 1999 and officially organized as the Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project, Inc., in 2004. Our mission is to educate the public about puppy mills, to prevent cruelty to animals, to foster understanding of responsible pet acquisition and ownership, and to promote adoption of homeless companion animals. & Shelter from the Storm Spay Neuter

Oshkosh Humane Society
1925 Shelter Court
Oshkosh, WI 54901

The Oshkosh Area Humane Society is very excited about its partnership with Shelter from the Storm Animal Rescue, a Madison based non-profit offering low cost spay neuter surgeries. OAHS will be a drop-off location for people in the Oshkosh area utilizing the services of Shelter from the Storm.  Shelter from the Storm comes to OAHS to pick up pets scheduled in advance for surgery on a specific day, takes them back to the Madison clinic, performs surgeries the next day and then brings pets back to OAHS to be returned to their owners.

This program benefits people and their pets and OAHS. For the owners, they will have a pet that is easier to train, less likely to roam and get into fights with other animals. The animals themselves will be less likely to develop certain kinds of cancer and live happier and healthier lives. The payoff for OAHS is fewer unwanted births resulting in fewer unwanted animals coming into OAHS and other shelters.

Persons wishing to take advantage of the low cost spay/neuter and transport service need to call ahead to set up an appointment at 920-424-2128 or email spaymeoahs@hotmail.com

Citizens United for Animals, Inc.

PO Box 170414    Milwaukee, WI 53217

Citizens United for Animals: Our primary goal is to bring attention to the systematic abuse of animals, both globally and locally, and the alarming extent of the problem. It is CUFA’s hope that those so enlightened will feel compelled to take a greater interest in the welfare of all creatures on this planet, work for improved lives for all species, and forgo those practices and possessions which necessitate the suffering and killing of defenseless animals.

CUFA monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00pm at the Outpost Coop at 100 E. Capital Drive, Milwaukee.

It is at these meetings that current legislations, pending campaigns, upcoming events, and other business are discussed. Decisions are made as to how the membership can best work toward eliminating abuse.

It is CUFA’s desire that each sentient being on this planet live out its life in a healthy, natural fashion; unimpeded by the tastes, greed, and wantonness of mankind.   Visit website at      https://www.facebook.com/CitizensUnitedForAnimals
